Welcome to HowlNET IRC
HowlNet is an internet relay chat network for otherkin, therianthropes, and vampires, and animal people. HowlNET welcomes all users whom have a genuine interest in the discussion of otherkin and therianthropy related topics. HowlNET is provided free of charge as a community resource.
Purpose
The purpose of HowlNET is to provide a safe, secure, and fun environment for members of the otherkin, therianthropy, and vampire community to openly chat and share ideas and thoughts. Additionally, HowlNET supports other community sites, and encourages them to start a channel for their group on HowlNET. Although our service is geared towards the otherkin, any individual with an open mind and an open heart is welcome on HowlNET!
Features
HowlNET is powered by InspIRCd and Atheme Services. This means that we support extended modes, Nickname and Channel registration, Services bots, Virtual Hosts, Offline Messages (memos), and all the features you’d expect on an IRC network with full services. We currently have the following services enabled: NickServ, ChanServ, MemoServ, BotServ, HostServ, GroupServ, ALIS. We support secure connections (SSL), and we also provide functionality to manage your services account over the web when you’re not connected to IRC. HowlNET provides a webchat client, and allows users to connect via Mibbit.
Founding
HowlNET was founded on 3/22/2012. It was originally founded as an extension of Wulf Howl, to replace the older Public Chat Service. HowlNET is now an IRC Network for otherkin, therians, vampires, and animal people. It is ran independently from Wulf Howl. The name HowlNET was chosen because a “howl” is an organized gathering of therianthropes. HowlNET is the virtual version of that.
